I learned first hand, what others have been telling me, that having a Youtube channel is waste of time. After spent hours working on my new channel, uploading neat videos, developing playlists, and setting the premiere for such, I went to my channel and found out that most of my videos either showed up as unavailable in my playlists, or were not there. What a disappointment!Then I spent hours trying, with little to no help from Youtube, to find out what went wrong and correct it. Every video had been approved by Youtube, was high quality, played in Youtube's studio, and the box allowing embedding was marked. There was no reason these videos should be labeled as unavailable in my playlists and not show at all on my channel. Further, two videos that had previously appeared on my channel and in the designated playlist no longer did so. I checked to see if they still appeared in the Youtube Studio - they did and played with excellent quality.This has been a total waste of time! I should have listened to my friends, several of them have experienced similar problems while using Youtube, and used TikTok. But, I'm just not a TikTok fan! Thus, I will most likely erase my Youtube channel, and just focus on my website.

You can tell the best stories on your YouTube channel when you follow these four steps.1. Find a new angle to your story.Let's face it, there's no new topic you could possibly talk about on YouTube that five other creators haven't covered. So to get ahead of the game, look for new angles to the story that no other person is discussing.For example, people on the entertainment side of YouTube are talking about P Diddy and the allegations against him. Instead of approaching the topic from that same point, you can look into his childhood, family life and how that has made him who he is now as an adult.It's all about giving your audience something new and different from the norm.2. Be relatableYou have to understand your audience and use the kind of language they understand. For example, using legal terminology when making a video about rap crime will bore your audience. You have to use street slang that is commonly heard in rap songs.3. Avoid repetition.I cannot emphasize this enough but don't repeat points. I avoid long form scripts for certain topics because of how often repetition is likely to happen.Before you determine how long a video should be, ensure the topic has enough talking points or else, your team will struggle. Some topics are better left as short videos or else, your audience will get bored and drop bad comments.4. Use as many clips as possibleDon't be afraid to include clips in your videos. Celebrating small victories...Barkster Kid Songs released our 7th video yesterday and it both pushed us above 500 subscribers and was our best-performing video in its first 24 hours. I don't think it's any one thing we are doing differently, we are just determined, week after week to improve everything about our content and release plans.Yes, we're still a long way from monetizing BUT we're so much further along than we planned. Oh, and if you have little kids, consider plopping 'em down and having them watch! Every video has a strong social/emotional lesson. If you don't have little kids, please DON'T watch or subscribe.
